Binoculars Manufacturer

Optical field equipments like telescopes (monocular and binocular) are the most indispensable navigational, observation and exploratory equipment. That is because they allow visuals to objects and locations farther away than the eye can see comfortably.

The only problem with telescopes, binoculars most especially is that they are very costly. A good pair of binoculars ranges around $200 - $600. A generous pair may be $80 - $100, but then quality isn’t as assured. The most high tech ones can cost as much as a brand new high end personal computer – around $2,500. And even if such binoculars can let you almost see the craters of the moon, only a stingy few would be willing to shell such amount of money for just a pair of binoculars.

Or Would You?

Knowing your way around the binoculars manufacturer is of utmost importance if you want one that has superb quality while at the same time a manageable price tag. Binoculars manufacturer price their products according to several aspects: quality of the materials, the features and technology installed, plus several other minor factors like the cost of manufacturing, processes, shipping costs, taxes…etc. And yes, the most central one: the brand name.

Brand names are big factors in raising the product price. Like for instance a product without a brand name (like Private Labels or OEMs) against a comparable product from a known binoculars manufacturer Bushnell. Both products might have similar features and characteristics, but it’s always certain that the Bushnell product will cost higher. Maybe because of more advertising on the part of Bushnell, more marketing, better packaging... so on and so forth, but the branded products always cost way higher and private labels as lower cost alternatives to international binoculars manufacturer brand names.

One such example is China binocular manufacturers Kunming Optical Instruments Company Limited. Typically an optical equipment wholesaler, the binoculars made by Kunming Optical Instruments Company Limited have the working quality comparative to the binoculars made by other established binoculars manufacturer. The only difference is theirs having severely inflated prices. And guess who will win the market share.

Due to shipment cost and the desire to retain the low price, and as a Private Label Company, Kunming Optical Instruments Company Limited is strictly wholesaler. They sign orders the least of 100 pieces. Other private label companies exist too. There is the India binocular manufacturer Alibaba that sells myriads of optical and precision equipments. Then there is the brass binocular manufacturer.

So What’s The Trade Off Of These Private Label Products?

Since you can say these products are clones to a specific successful line of binocular design, it’s somewhat an assurance that you’d be getting more or less the same experience when using the original one. And the best thing about private labels is that they cost very cheap when compared to the branded product. For instance, the Kunming Giant Binocular could cost as low as $1k, while the Leica Giant Binocular could cost around $5k. Such differences in pricing will ultimately tip the scale’s balance in the binocular world market.

The only thing about Private Label products though is the quality of the materials used. Mass manufactured with the intent of keeping the products as much as possible –cheap, such aim may not do well to certain groups of consumers. For instance in commercial and military consumers whose budget the least importance, quality make plus the added features are more significant. Commercial ships take with them branded, high end, high tech giant binoculars, so do military issue binoculars.

So, it drains down to personal choice and the degree of use. Casual stargazing can make do of private labels –be sure to check out several of these designs. Some of them are quite good for their almost giveaway price. Serious trekking and outdoors can make better use of high end, pricey but reliable binocular products.
